Just Shut Up... Your Better Off

It makes me laugh.

I was out getting some lunch today, and while I was leaving the store, this "DUDE" in a pickup was rolling through the parking lot as I was trying to get to my car. As I started walking he speed-up and forced me to step back as to not get hit. I loudly expressed opinion about him, his driving, and maybe something about his mother. That part is a little foggy. Of course his windows were open, and he heard every word of what I had to say. He quickly slapped on his brakes. I slapped the back of his truck with my hand, and keys. As I walked into the street and was on his drivers side. He looked out of his window and screamed. "Do you have something to say DUDE". Well, I did. So I casually turned around took a few steps towards his truck, and calmly stated that he was an Ass, that I had the right of way, that he should get the F#$@ out of here and just keep on driving. I then proceeded to walk a little closer to his truck. Very quickly after that he stepped on the gas and continued on his way.

I mean come on. If you are going to have the balls to say something. Back it up. In no way did I really want a confrontation, but I was not going to be the one that turned their back.

I see it this way. You have 3 choices in this situation. Drive responsibly and no confrontation needs to even be started. Drive like an ass with no consequence for those around you, but when confronted by it take responsibility for the result of your actions. Or best yet. Just Shut The F up and keep on driving. One day the person you have a comment to might have a bigger comment for you, and his comment might be loaded.

Katrina - Time To Cut The Cord

Let me preface this by saying that I am completely for helping those in trouble. I do not have a problem with assistance in times of need, what I do have trouble with is when those in need start taking advantage and depending on the government and others to act as their nipple.

How long are we as taxpayers suppose to support those that refuse to help themselves? I do know that there are cases in which assistance is still and going to be need for a long time, but there are many more cases in which people are taking advantage of the generosity. Come on, why get a job when FEMA just keeps paying your rent, giving you food, replenishing your debit card, and making excuses for you. You lost your house? Here is a hotel room. Room too small? Here is a trailer. Trailer not right? Here is a house. I have to work for this shit. Maybe it actually is that those of us that work for what we have are better then those who refuse to help themselves.

I use to have a more sympathetic ear to those that were down and out, but over the years I have learned more about the crutch society hands them. If money is free, and you are not embarrassed to collect a government check, then why try.

The most recent events that pertain to this article are as follow:

FEMA give deadline for Katrina Victims placed in hotels.
Groups all over this country are screaming about the victims being left in the cold. How about hearing the honest truth about the statement made by FEMA, not the CNN spin. What FEMA actually said is they would like to move all of those victims who are housed in hotels ( Cost about 220 million tax payer dollars ) to a more permanent residence by the date specified, the government will still pay most if not all the bills. They would just like to start people in the direction of self-sufficiency. They never said they would be cut-off, just relocated.

Plenty of work available in New Orleans
New Orleans Employers are reporting they job market is plentiful.
Ship builders, fast-food restaurants and construction companies are desperate to find workers, enticing job seekers with free laundry service and signing bonuses.
Signs for employment in the Gulf area are everywhere.

So with all this in mind, the media has gone out to ask people living off the government around the country if they are going to head back, and get their lives back on track. Well their answer is no, they claim because of the shortage in housing, there is no reason to head back. Let me propose this. If you are unemployed, raising a family, living off the government, and your are offered a job that would pay you double the salary then you would ever make otherwise. Would you not figure out a way to make it work. In my opinion this is just another excuse to just continue living off the goodwill of others. These are people that most likely had no job before the hurricane, and will have no job after. What they will have though is a new house courtesy of the taxpayers, more welfare money, and a story of excuses that should last a lifetime.

I think we should all find a way to voice our opinion on this topic, whether it is via blog, chatting at the bar, or contacting our local politicians. Again, I have in no way a problem supporting those in need, I just want to make sure that there are limitations on what is given, when the means to take care of yourself are available.

Are you just that ignorant.

Enough Already. When is it that people will wake up and realize that they are dangerous. Are you just so ignorant that you cannot realize the danger you are putting everyone else in.

You come rolling around the corner, cell phone in one hand, a Mc Fat Ass burger in the other. Your car looks like an extra from Viva La Bam, and your looking everywhere besides the direction you are heading. CHRIST….

Put something down, stop shoving shit into your face, you do not need to eat anymore. Get off the phone, you are really not that important that you need to be on a cell phone every waking moment. If you were that important, then you would not be driving around in that piece of shit anyway. What I need at these moments is a nice loud horn that states the obvious. Get the fuck off the phone. Nice and to the point. Don't you think?

Well this is just my opinion, let me know your feelings.

Evolution vs Creationism

Although I am not an expert, I can at least be sure that I have more knowledge in this area then most that are arguing it.

Let me start by saying that I am a Catholic, and that I have attended Catholic Schools all of my life. Throughout all of the schools that I have attended, I have been taught both sides of the argument. The difference was that we were taught Evolution in Science class and Creationism in Religion class. Evolution being taught as a science, and Creationism was taught as a theory. Even the Catholic schools did not try to apply science to Creationism.

I live in a country that has on paper a clear division between church and state. Yet too many Religious right advocates are now trying to sell me that they can apply science to Creationism, dubbing it The Science of Intelligent Design.

Creationists have undoubtedly discounted evolution as a fraud, dismissing virtually all of the geological, paleontological, and astrophysical research that shows that the Earth is billions of years old. When asked to apply proper science to Creationism, the answer received is quite amusing. “It is morally inappropriate to try and prove creationism”. At the Institute for Creation Research, they actually apply that the Grand Canyon was created by the great 40 day 40 night flood, in which Noah placed 2 of every animal on an Ark. First off, how big was that damn boat? Second, how naive would you have to be to first off this that it happened in America, and secondly that the marvel known as the Grand Canyon let alone the whole world was created in Days? You can visit Institution for Creation Research to get the strangest arguments against the facts I could find. To get small glimpse of the rational side visit Creationism versus Science

I do not in any way discourage any opinion, or theory, I just do not want it placed where it does not belong. How do you think a Jewish, or Buddhist family would feel if their child had to be subjected to this nonsense in public school. If you want your child taught a certain belief, or at least be exposed to the possibility. Send them to private school, or enroll them in Catechism class on Sunday.

My bottom line is quite simple, publicly funded programs are not to be mixed with religion. This is the way our forefathers intended it. It is in the Constitution.

The Truth.org

OK, enough with the damn TV ads. Mind your own damn business. If a person chooses to smoke then that is there concern, not a bunch of snotty stuck up, liberal college kids.

“One Tobacco company said they would not support a youth organization that supports discouraging youth smoking” Well big F’in deal. They are a business. They have the same rights as you and me to decide what is in their best interest.

I have never in my life considered smoking safe, nor have I ever been lead by a tobacco company to believe that. Maybe it is that I am smarter then those who are easily fooled, but I doubt it.

All the truth is about is shoving a perspective in our faces. Smokers already get flack from every angle, now they have to get flack from a group of kids that have never had to accomplish a damn thing in life.

Would I admit that smoking is a safe habit, of course not. I just don’t need campy TV ads letting me know that. We are all adults; the research on smoking is publicly available. Maybe The Truth should dedicate their time and donated money helping military families, or homeless, or educating children at schools. I think more people should mind their own business, if you don’t like it, don’t do it. If it is around you and it bothers you? Leave.

We live in a free country, so why are we dealing with those that feel they have the right to free speech and expression, yet certain other groups (smokers) must have their rights squashed. If I feel like having a smoke, I do not want to feel like I am commiting a crime. The last I heard smoking is legal.

This is once again my opinion. Let me know what you think
